The Equal Status Acts prohibit landlords of private rented accommodation from refusing to offer accommodation or from terminating a tenancy on any of the following nine grounds:

  • Marital status
  • Family status
  • Sexual orientation
  • Religious belief
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Race
  • Member of the Traveller Community
