section 4 title: eviction
go to previous page go to next page

A landlord cannot evict you from your home by changing the locks, forcing you out from the property, taking your belongings or throwing them out. Neither can a landlord cut off the electricity, gas or water in order to force you out.

If this happens, keep receipts for costs incurred for alternative accommodation, meals, clothing etc. Also make a list of personal belongings lost or damaged.

If a landlord attempts to evict you, or has forced you out, contact Threshold.
