A Housing-led approach to tackling Homelessness
When dealing with homelessness in Cork and Kerry, Threshold's Access Housing Unit provides a 'housing-led' approach that involves both the rapid provision of appropriate accommodation and tailored supports to ensure sustainable tenancies.
There are two main elements to the service -
Pre and Post Tenancy Support and Homelessness Prevention.
The primary purpose of the AHU is to support individuals and families to move out of emergency accommodation into private rented accommodation and providing tenancy sustainment to support people to sustain these tenancies.
The focus of the AHU’s homeless preventative service is on immediate support where there is a substantial risk of homelessness occurring and prompt and effective interventions where homelessness occurs.
The Access Housing Unit makes a very real difference to people's lives.
